Family Update (December 2017)

This month has been full swing preparation for Christmas and all the things that go along with it from learning lines for school plays, songs for nursery, decorating our Christmas tree and picking gifts for our loved ones. (Every year I say I want to be more organised for christmas but hasn’t happened yet and I am yet to meet someone who is truly prepare for Christmas with kids in the house). We have been embracing all things Christmas and to top it off we had a snow day! Mr J really enjoyed it as he was a tiny baby last time we seen the white stuff. My daughter’s school and sons nursery closed both closed due to the snow so we got to spend some time outside playing in the snow as a family which was great. Unplanned family fun times are always the best.

Over the month My husband and I couldn’t be more proud of our two as they both done really well in their Christmas plays and concerts. Especially for our little man as it was his first time performing on stage in front of a room full of parents. He was dressed up a reindeer in his christmas concert. Our daughter was towns person in her school nativity play.

On christmas eve we baked buns together for santa and then attended our church candle lit carol service which was lovely as we don’t normally get to do something like that on Christmas eve but its because it fell on a Sunday this year. Afterward at home the kids received their special christmas eve boxes which i had made up for them containing new pjs, sweets and dvd each. We then cuddled up together on the sofa and watched the dvds until it was time for the kids to go to bed ready for santa.

Christmas day was a busy one in our house, I had my father-in-law, my father and my bother down for dinner and the rest of the family visiting throughout the day. The kids had so much fun opening their gifts from santa and watching their faces light up was truly a gift for hubby and I.

Boxing day was a day of quiet family time, just the four of us having a meal together and playing board games. I truly love this time of year when we can relax together as a family and enjoy each others company, something I would love to do more of.
